Butterscotch Candy

This Butterscotch candy is made right after Thanksgiving every year since from when I can remember. The recipe has been passed down from my mother’s side and she brings it in full force after Thanksgiving. 
This is an easy recipe that any kid or adult can make! What a way to start the month of December with some easy peasy Butterscotch candy.

Hera’s Pinch

Not a fan of butterscotch? You can make the same candy with chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, peppermint chips, and white chocolate chips. Any kind of morsels that melt and you can coat the chow mein noodles with. Chocolate Mint is another favorite!

  1. Pour butterscotch chips into a saucepan over very low heat, continuously stirring until Butterscotch is melted, 3-4 minutes. You may use a double boiler.
  2. Add chow mein noodles and peanuts to a medium-sized bowl. Pour over melted butterscotch and mix with a spoon until noodles and peanuts are evenly coated.
  3. On a large piece of parchment spoon out a tablespoon of the mixture till all mixture is used.
  4. The butterscotch candy will be set in 15-20 minutes.

La Choy Chow Mein noodles and Nestle Tollhouse Butterscotch Chips are the two main stays for this recipe.
