 Why Delish in a Pinch?

I add a PINCH of my ideas to the recipes. I also like to read up on what I am making. As you will see, there will be fun little facts attached to the recipes from time to time.

Delish, if it made it on this website it has been marked DELISH! Meaning it has been tested, tried, and is a recipe that will please those taste buds.

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in the Pacific NorthWest, Seattle to be exact. For the past 15 years I have been in Chicagoland. I grew up between two cultures, one that made sense to me and another I fought hard to figure out. Is it weird that I am still figuring it out? 

NO, but where are you really from? 

It cracks me up that I get this question.

Why a cooking blog?

It’s a fun cooking journal, a creative outlet, and a place to draw connections to other facinating topics. Plus, a central space anyone can go to when looking for a recipe. Everyone can use additional delish in their life. If you are looking for a little more insight into me check out the ‘Credibility Cookie and Latte’ blog entry.

Why do you cook?

In a pinch, it makes me happy! Plus, it is fun, even when things don’t go as expected. I just enjoy creating! Remind me to tell you about the eruption cake for my son’s fifth birthday party. Let’s just say it was not meant to be an eruption cake but it went well with the Jurassic World theme!

Lil Chef (my son), Mini Chef (my daughter) and myself!

Do you really have pizza every Friday?

Yes, oh my gosh, pizza is sacred in this household! I would not mess with Friday Night Pizza night! Some of the creations have been so much fun, can’t wait to share!

Who is the Mixologist?

Lil Chef and Mini Chef’s Pops! He’s some kind of magnificence with mixology! He has granted me access to his secret recipes of cocktails. Also, some delish mocktails!

Why are you anti calendar food days?

Is my son asking this secretly? I refuse to have a calendar tell me what to make on ‘said’ food day. Could you imagine if I followed one, I would need to follow so many more! No thank you! All the best to those who do! Happy pancake day! Happy Cake day! Happy Nacho day! 

Who is Chef Harvey?

He is a highly talented executive chef who is also my father! This man is true magic in the kitchen and if you have had his food, it’s an experience that takes you on different levels of flavor notes dancing on your palette. His passion lies in teaching others to cook, you can find his show here.

Who is the Food Safety Guru?

My wonderful talented mother who is also referred to as Salt. A chef consumed with food safety. The way this women cooks is so remarkable. She pulls recipes out on the spot! Truly a genius. You will see!!
